The Alaska Dog Coat features a narrow, elongated fit, because slender sighthounds and sighthound breeds such as Whippets or Galgos feel the cold faster than other dogs and therefore need a different fit to regular dog coats.

A belly panel and chest warmer provide extra warmth in areas that, due to sighthounds' minimal undercoat and slim build, can chill particularly quickly. The coat is lined with a soft, down-look padding that keeps dogs reliably warm even in cold winter weather. This also makes the coat suitable for dogs with little undercoat, city dogs, or dogs with joint problems such as arthritis or rheumatism.

The comfortable fit offers full freedom of movement, while an elastic cord keeps the coat securely in place during running and sniffing, so it doesn't shift out of position. Hook-and-loop fastenings make putting the coat on quick and easy, with no fiddly fitting required. A long, waterproof two-way zip along the back means the harness and collar stay easily accessible, even under the coat.
